Acceptable Use Policy

1.Scope

This policy applies to everyone who uses our website or our software products, including everyone you give access to under your account. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

You are responsible for the activity carried out under your account, including activity by your staff, clients and anyone using your credentials or API keys.

2.Illegal activity

You must not use our products to:

• break any applicable law or regulation;
• facilitate fraud, money laundering, or the sale of illegal goods or services;
• harass, threaten, defame or impersonate any person or organisation; or
• store or distribute material that is unlawful, including content that is obscene or that promotes violence or discrimination.

3.Spam and unsolicited messages

Our products may be used to send business communications. When you do so, you must comply with all applicable marketing and email laws, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, UK GDPR and, where relevant, the CAN-SPAM Act. In particular, you must not:

• send unsolicited bulk email, chain messages or any other form of spam;
• send messages to addresses obtained without a lawful basis, or to purchased or scraped lists where you have no lawful basis to contact them;
• use false, misleading or disguised sender details, subject lines or headers;
• omit a clear way to opt out, or continue contacting someone after they have asked you to stop; or
• use our products to circumvent spam filters, sending limits or deliverability controls.

4.Scraping and automated access

Automated collection of publicly available information is permitted only where it is lawful and reasonable. You must not:

• ignore a website’s terms of use, robots directives or rate limits;
• place an unreasonable load on any third-party website or service, or disrupt its normal operation;
• bypass access controls, paywalls, logins or anti-bot measures; or
• collect personal data through scraping without a lawful basis for doing so.

5.Malware and security

You must not:

• upload or transmit viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware or any other malicious code;
• probe, scan or test the security of our systems without our prior written permission;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or network, or interfere with any user’s use of our products; or
• carry out a denial-of-service attack or otherwise deliberately overload our infrastructure.

If you find a security vulnerability in our products, please report it to us at support@20thlabs.com rather than disclosing it publicly.

6.Infringement of rights

You must not use our products to infringe anyone’s intellectual property rights, to publish confidential information you have no right to share, or to breach anyone’s privacy or data protection rights.

7.Misuse of third-party platforms

Where our products connect to a third-party platform, search engine or API, you must comply with that provider’s terms. You must not use our products to:

• breach a platform’s terms of service, developer policies or webmaster guidelines;
• create fake accounts, or use stolen or shared credentials;
• manipulate rankings, reviews or metrics through deceptive practices; or
• exceed a provider’s published rate limits or resell access to their data where their terms forbid it.

8.Consequences of breach

If we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, we may take any of the following steps, depending on how serious the breach is:

• ask you to stop the activity and put it right;
• restrict or suspend access to your account or to particular features, with or without notice;
• remove or disable access to offending content;
• terminate your account and any subscription, without refund of fees already paid; and
• report the matter to the police, a regulator or an affected third party, and cooperate with any investigation.

You remain liable for any loss we suffer as a result of your breach, including claims brought against us by third parties.

9.Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is using our products in breach of this policy, please tell us at support@20thlabs.com with enough detail for us to investigate.

10.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products change or as new forms of misuse appear. The current version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated.
